Granite buying guide: from enquiry to container
What to fix before you ask for a quote, and which numbers decide the landed cost.
What should be fixed before requesting a granite quote?
Four items: surface finish, thickness, quantity in square meters, and delivery port. Without these four, no supplier can give a comparable price, and quotes come back with different assumptions.
Which numbers decide the landed cost?
Loaded square meters per container, packing weight, and port of discharge. A 20ft container holds about 400 m² of 2cm slabs; the same container holds fewer square meters of 3cm because weight becomes the limit before volume does.
How do I compare two suppliers fairly?
Compare the delivered cost per square meter at your port, not the factory price. Include packing, inland haulage and any certification the project requires.
