Flower bed edging runs around a planting bed, retaining the soil and closing the edge. It takes soil pressure rather than vehicle load, so strength is not the issue — straight lines and consistent height are. A bed edge is one long straight run, and a single low or twisted piece breaks the whole line. Outdoors, frost and wear still apply; sawn cut and bush hammered are the usual finishes.
