Tactile paving uses colour and the shape of the surface bars to let visually impaired users read direction and position, so the stone has to be even in colour, with crisp bars, clean edges and good wear resistance. Colour contrast is the hard requirement, and which colour family works depends on the accessibility code where the project is — rules differ between countries, so confirm the local requirement before ordering. Dark stones are generally unsuitable because the contrast is insufficient.
