Plaza paving covers large areas, and the usual failure is not the quality of a single slab but colour variation and joint alignment. A plaza of several thousand square metres supplied in batches will show patchwork wherever the base colour shifts between batches. The fix is to reserve the material for the whole project in one go, from the same quarry and the same production run, and to lay and approve a sample section before full installation. Outdoor floors also need slip resistance and freeze-thaw resistance, so flamed or bush hammered are the usual choices.
