How to choose, how to calculate a container, how to compare stone.

Polished or flamed: which one for outdoor paving?

Flamed, for anything outdoors at ground level. Polished granite turns slick as soon as it is wet and is effectively unusable after rain. Flamed is rough and slip-resistant and is the default for exterior paving. Keep polished for facades, worktops and interior floors.

Haitang Red and Maple Red: the same stone?

No. Haitang Red is G561 and Maple Red is G562; a different code means a different material. The trade calls Haitang Red the little Maple Red because both come from Cenxi, Guangxi, and both are red granite. Buy by code, not by nickname.

Sesame White vs Sesame Grey: how far apart are they?

Sesame White (G603) is a pale base with fine grey dots; Sesame Grey (G602) is a mid-grey base with distinct black and white grain. This is a difference in base colour, not the same stone at two depths. Choose white for brightness and low contrast, grey for dirt tolerance and paving.

Sesame Black vs Sesame Grey: what actually differs

Bottom line: Sesame Black (G654) has a near-black base with fine grain; Sesame Grey (G602) has a mid-grey base with coarser, more visible grain. Both work outdoors. Black suits dark facades and worktops, grey suits large bright paving. Judge colour first, finish second, price last.
